What a fabulous 4th! We spent five days on the glorious Gulf Coast with Mark's family- it was blast hanging out on the beach, cooking out and of course setting off fireworks. The best part was having the grandparents there to watch little guy so I could get plenty of Vitamin D. It was HOT HOT HOT, but completely worth it to be on the beach without a baby to chase after.

Doing what the Olis boys do best- fishing!

A special treat was getting to see the Bufkin's while we were in Destin. They were vacationing a mere 20 minutes away, so we were able to meet for dinner on Friday night. Ryan and Lily were both in our wedding, and despite living two hours away from them now, we have remained the closest of friends with them. These two munchkins are incredibly special to Mark and I as we have known them since toddler hood. We HEART this family! I loved swapping stories and catching up over Amber jack and Wyatt has two personal entertainers during dinner (this made my life MUCH easier- as they were fascinated with the baby).

... And we are back to reality... the birthday plans are moving full steam ahead! :)
Our little firecracker was in rare form... he had a great time getting into everything and terrorizing Mark's parent's wienie dogs. He loved that they were just his size, and we had to spend a good amount of time trying to teach him to play "nice". He especially enjoyed head butting them, poking at their eyes and noses and yanking on their ears. Poor doggies didn't have a chance.
Wyatt was quite the ball of energy, and I can already tell he is going to be a highly rambunctious toddler- he is fearless, and curious about everything...and nothing he does is quiet. It is amazing to me how their little personalities seem to change over night. This is a picture of him in his Grandpa Olis' first rocking chair from when he was a child. This chair is over 50 years old!
