Wyatt had his 4-month well check-up on Friday, and he weighs 16.3 pounds! Whoa, what a big boy! He also got 4 shots and did much better recovering this time, with little to no fever, and seemed to bounce back just fine -thank the good Lord! He is 25 inches long, and that puts him in the 50th percentile for length and the 75th percentile for weight. He has started solid foods, and so far it is going okay... he likes his rice cereal, but doewn't seem to be loving the green beans- he will take a few bites but he ends up wearing most of it. Oh well, we are getting the hang of it.
He was diagnosed with a muscular condition called Tortocolis. Remember about a month ago when I poseted the pictures of him holding his head to the right? Well, it has gotten a TON better, but he still has the tendency to lay his head to the right when we are not actively working with him to hold it up straight. Apparently, when I was pregnant with him, he got really comfortable in one position, with his head curled up to the right, and when I delivered him, the doctor said that his head was tilted and facing towards the right. At the time I didn't think much of it, but apprently it has made the ligaments and muscles on the right side of his neck very weak. We have to do special exercises with him each day to build to those muscles up, and if by 6 months, the condition hasn't reveresed itself, Wyatt will have to undergo physical therapy.
Please pray that he will outgrow this, and we can avoid physical therapy!
Everything else seems to be just fine. He is developing at the normal pace in all respects, and is a very healthy, happy and alert little boy.
